Snow Removal Reminder:
Please be reminded all owners, occupants, and (or) tenants of property fronting upon or alongside any public streets with sidewalks parallel and adjacent to the street are required to remove accumulated ice and snow within twelve (12) hours after the ice or snowfall has ceased.
If we all "think spring" hard enough, perhaps we won't have to worry about this burden for another year!
Your Voice Can Be Heard!
Perhaps you have the mind-set that your opinion does not really matter. You could not be more wrong! The bottom-line decisions that give direction to our community are made by you, the residents of the Borough, through the Borough Council and other various committees, boards, and organizations that serve Borough Council.
Currently there are several vacancies within the Borough. In addition, the Borough is in the process of forming a regional water and sewer authority. This Authority will have several vacancies that must be filled by Borough residents. If you have a heart for community service and want a voice of responsibility in Mifflinburg, contact the Borough Manager at 966-1013 or stop in the Borough office to apply.
Water Meter Testing to Continue
The Borough maintenance personnel will once again be selectively testing a small percentage of the Borough's water meters. This process will involve your cooperation. A Borough employee will be contacting you to set up a mutually convenient time to enter your residence and replace the meter will one that it is verified as accurate. The pulled meters will be tested and a report will sent to the Borough.
If you have any concerns or question the legitimacy of the person calling, please contact the Borough office and report the location and name of the individual who spoke with you and we will be able to verify that it pertains to Borough work.
